Features
- Mass-downloading of Internet sites
included HTTP (Web), FTP, and also local sites (CD-ROMS, etc), reindexing of
files so that the
web documents reflect the local download path.
- Common Tree View
display of website with visual indicators. Snatcher uses a standard tree
view to show the links on web pages. In addition, Snatcher displays an icon that
most closely classifies the file type. Files are "checked-off" as they are
downloaded.
- Multi-leveled parsing of websites. You
can use Snatcher to recurse as deeply as you want into websites, spanning both ftp and
http.
- Filter on the files you're interested in.
You can choose to only view files that you're interested in (graphic files, wav files,
etc.). This feature is entirely user-customizable as well. You can also limit
the file sizes that you want to download.
- Dump files into one folder or generate subfolders
to mimic websites. If you're downloading only a particular set of files (a
huge list of .jpg files for example) you may want to dump every file into a common
folder. Or, if you're archiving entire websites, instruct Snatcher to generate
subfolders to mimic the structure of a website. Also, you can reindex the links in
the web documents to reflect the local download path.
- View errors with
Snatcher's error
log file. Sometimes websites are down and you have to wait to download
files. Snatcher keeps track of the files that you couldn't download, or any other
error that may have occurred.
